Public Safety & Accountability
Vote Paul Ledford Candidate for 58th District Court Judge

Public Safety and Accountability
District court is where many people first encounter the justice system. It is where the court handles criminal charges, probation violations, civil disputes, landlord-tenant issues, small claims, and many of the everyday matters that affect families, victims, officers, businesses, and taxpayers.
Paul Ledford is running because Ottawa County deserves a district judge who will:
- apply the law fairly,
- protect constitutional rights,
- take violent crime seriously,
- make careful decisions about release and bond,
- hold repeat offenders and probation violators accountable,
- treat every person in court with dignity and respect,
- and serve with humility, not politics from the bench.
Paul’s guiding principle is simple:
Act justly. Love mercy. Walk humbly.
That means justice must be real. Mercy must be wise. And public service must be humble.

Constitutional Rights and Responsible Citizenship
For more than a decade, Paul taught the legal portion of Michigan Concealed Pistol License courses, helping an estimated 7,000 CPL applicants understand the law, their rights, and their responsibilities.
Paul has also lectured as a guest at Grand Valley State University on issues including liberty, search and seizure, and civil rights law. He has also taught as an adjunct professor at GVSU.
Paul believes a free society depends on both:
- respect for constitutional rights, and
- personal responsibility under the law.
A court should never forget either one.
Fairness, Mercy, and Humility
Paul’s campaign is grounded in the principle:
“Act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly.”
To Paul, that means:
Act justly — apply the law fairly, without favoritism, and take public safety seriously.
Love mercy — remember that every person who comes before the court is a human being, and that mercy has a proper place when guided by truth, responsibility, and the law.
Walk humbly — understand that the role of judge is not about ego, politics, or personal agenda. It is about service.
Paul believes Ottawa County deserves a judge who will be prepared, respectful, steady, and accountable to the law.
